Wichita group home says resident with Down syndrome found safe

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Starkey says a 20-year-old resident with Down syndrome who went missing early Tuesday morning has been found safe.

A Wichita group home for people with disabilities needs help to find a missing 20-year-old man who has Down syndrome. 

Starkey says Luis Garcia climbed out of his bedroom window sometime in the early morning hours. The home is located on South Holyoke Street.  

Garcia was spotted at around 6:30 a.m. at the McDonald's at Harry and Hillside. He stands 5-foot-5 and weighs 192 pounds. 

A spokesperson for Starkey says a police report has been made and staff have been searching all morning for Garcia.
