Wichita man paid girl to recruit others for sex, court docs say

Court documents accuse a 38-year-old Wichita man of paying a teenage girl to find other girls he could pay for sex. 

Long Van, a registered sex offender, was arrested in July and charged last month with aggravated human trafficking of a 15-year-old girl and released on bond. 

Court records obtained by KAKE News on Monday state a detective with the Exploited and Missing Child Unit responded in May to ad on an escort site and took a teen into custody at the Super 8 Motel on West Kellogg. 

A search of the teen's phone uncovered more than 2900 messages between her and and Van in which they discussed exchanging money for sex numerous times. There were also conversations between February 22 and May 29 about the teen recruiting other girls, including the 15-year-old, for sex and keeping a portion of they money for herself. 

Other girls mentioned in the conversations were 16, 17 and 18 years old. 

The documents state Van would also ask for pictures and said Van would ask for pictures and said, "She young," "I wanna make sure," "Im kool with her being young" and "I like yall young."

Van was already on Community Corrections for a conviction of commercial sexual exploitation of a child in 2017. He's prohibited from contacting anyone under the age of 16.
