RAWLINS COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) -

A Nebraska man is dead after a crash in northwest Kansas Saturday.

Around noon Saturday, Derrick Bassnett was driving his pickup truck east on County Road AA in Rawlins County. The corn stalks are tall and obstructed his view at the intersection of County Road AA and County Road 6, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol. Bassnett’s pickup struck a semi truck.

Bassnett, 50, of Trenton, Neb., was taken to the hospital. He died from his injuries.

The driver of the semi truck, a man from Colby, was not hurt.
