WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita Police say a chase of a man wanted by the Kansas Dept. of Corrections, ended in rollover crash in east Wichita Friday night.

Officer Kevin Wheeler tells KAKE News that it started shortly after 5 p.m. when officers were called to the 100 block of N. Ash to assist the Department of Corrections in apprehending a 26-year-old male with a felony warrant for absconding.

The suspect got into a Ford Fusion, and the officers attempted to stop the vehicle. He refused to stop at first, but then did before driving off again with officers in pursuit.

The chase came to an end after the suspect ran a stop sign at Douglas and Green, hitting a Ford Explorer and causing it to turn over. A woman driving the Explorer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.  The male suspect driving the Fusion, and his female passenger, were taken into custody and then taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
