WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Over 100 veterans went on a trip to our nation's capital with Kansas Honor Flight thanks to a man who recycled near two dozen tons of cans.

Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport said Friday on Twitter that veteran Warren Vincent received a Certificate of Authenticity to recycling 23.5 tons of cans.

The money he raised is enough to send 135 veterans on a Kansas Honor Flight since 2011. Using some remedial math -- at $800 per veteran, that's $108,000 raised.
