WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

The Sedgwick County Zoo says seven Chinese alligators hatched overnight.

According to a Thursday morning post on Facebook, the births are important to the survival of the species. Fewer than 120 remain in the wild.

The baby gators will be raised behind the scenes, but the zoo promised photos and videos to come.
