Pregnant woman shot during home invasion in southeast Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita police say a 22-year-old pregnant woman remains in the hospital after she was shot in the arm Tuesday night. 

Officers responded shortly before 11 p.m. to a shooting in the 1600 block of South Battin, near Harry and Oliver. Police spokesperson Charley Davidson said the woman and a 29-year-old man were in an apartment when several male suspects forcefully entered. 

The woman was shot during a disturbance and the suspects fled. Her injury was not life-threatening. 

Lt. Todd Ojile said at the scene that the man had also been beaten. 

"Involved individuals had not shared all the facts of what has occurred, limiting information to investigators in determining all the circumstances of what has occurred," Officer Davidson said.
