Multiple students hurt in Kansas school bus crashPosted: Updated:
Numerous students and two others were taken to a hospital after a school bus and a pickup truck collided in northwest Kansas.
The accident happened at around 7:40 a.m. Monday at county roads I and 25 in Cheyenne County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says the 32-year-old driver of the school bus failed to yield to the pickup, causing it to collide with the passenger side of the bus.
The bus, which was carrying Cheylin USD 103 students, rolled onto its driver's side.
The patrol's crash log says 12 students between the ages of 5 and 13 were taken to the Cheyenne County Hospital. A 7-year-old girl suffered potentially serious injuries. The others, including both drivers, either had minor injuries or complained of pain.
The district notified parents.
