Man, teen arrested in deadly southeast Wichita shooting

Wichita police have arrested two people in connection to the shooting death of a 33-year-old man.

Police spokesperson Charley Davidson said 20-year-old Marcus Lamar was booked Tuesday for first-degree murder, aggravated robbery and a warrant. A 17-year-old boy was also booked for felony murder and aggravated robbery.

Officers responded at around 6 p.m. Monday to a shooting in the 4600 block of East Boston Street. An officer was at a meeting nearby when a witness ran in and alerted him that someone had been shot. 

The officer found the victim in an open field and began performing CPR. The victim, identified as Jerome Armbeck, had been shot multiple times and died from his injuries. 

Officer Charley Davidson said the investigation a disturbance occurred between Armbeck, Lamar and the teen when a suspect fired multiple times. 

Police say the shooting was drug related.

Kansas Department of Corrections records show Lamar is on parole for a theft conviction last year. He was listed as an absconder as of August 16.
