WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita police say a man and woman have been arrested after officers discovered five children were left alone at a home on the south side.

Jail records show 35-year-old JT Rowe and 29-year-old Jessica Thompson were each booked Thursday evening for four counts of aggravated child endangerment and one count of endangering a child.

Police spokesperson Kevin Wheeler said the arrests stem from a case made in late April when officers responded to a report of children left alone at a residence in the 3000 block of South Broadway. Officers found the children, ranging in age from 8 years to 2 months old, were alone and in conditions not suitable for them.

The children were taken into police protective custody at that time. The Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office arrested Rowe and Thompson on Thursday.

Officer Wheeler did not comment on the relationship between the suspects and the children.
