WELLINGTON, Kan. (KAKE) -

A Wellington man has been convicted of voluntary manslaughter in the death of his son's mother.

Sumner NewsCow reports Bradley Aue was originally charged with second-degree murder in the May 2018 death of 26-year-old Sierra Craft-McGee. A jury found him guilty of the lesser charge on Wednesday.

Aue was accused of intentionally killing Craft-McGee without premeditation at his home on 1002 South F Street by “striking her multiple times causing severe blunt force injuries including a nasal fracture, severe black eyes, multiple abrasions and contusions to her head, trunk and extremities.”

A criminal complaint also states that Aue pushed Craft-McGee into a window, severing and artery and causing lacerations throughout her body, and failing to timely obtain medical treatment for her.

Aue will be sentenced September 19 and could face between 55 to 71 months in prison.
