WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita police say they've arrested two people following a disturbance and shooting on Tuesday.

Officers booked 18-year-old John Murphy for four counts of aggravated assault and one count each of aggravated battery, criminal discharge of a firearm and theft. Arienna Harwood, 18, was booked for aggravated child endangerment, theft and battery.

Police responded at around 5:30 p.m. to a disturbance with shots fired in the 1700 block of South Glenn. They found an unoccupied BMW that had crashed into the garage of a vacant home.

Officer Charley Davidson said they were called about a half-hour later to the report of a shooting at Harry and McLean. He said a 22-year-old man had been shot in the head area and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation revealed that Harwood, the victim, a 15-year-old girl and two other children arrived at a home on South Glenn, and a disturbance ensued between them and two 18-year-old men and a 16-year-old girl in the home.

Davidson said Murphy fired multiple rounds at the BMW, striking the victim. The car then left the scene and crashed into the garage of a nearby home.

A family member picked them up, and they again encountered the three people from the home at Harry and McLean. Another disturbance ensued before officers arrived.

The investigation is ongoing.
