A photo of three children in a prayer circle before their first day of school in Louisiana is going viral on social media, with parents praising it as “the best back-to-school picture.”

Jamisha Harris posted to Facebook the photo of her children, ages 7, 8 and 10, holding hands in prayer before heading to the bus stop last Monday.

"This morning I’m feeling nervous and a little unsure but thankful, I pray for my children on their first day of school," she said.

After being reposted on WAFB’s Facebook page, thousands of parents have reacted to the back-to-school prayer, which is resonating in the wake of recent tragedies.

She said on a GoFundMe page that they recently lost their home, their car broke down, and she and her husband have been looking for work.

"Also with all the tragedies that’s been going on in the world we have to stay prayed up. So now we just looking to get back on our feet and get a house that’s for us."

Harris told Yahoo Lifestyle that praying is something that she and her husband do every day with their children. But as they’re headed off to school, it’s even more important to pray that they stay safe.

Harris said she teaches her kids about the importance of listening to their teachers in the case of an emergency.

“With all these tragedies happening the only thing I can do is raise them right and educate them on life and to always pray together,” she said.

She hopes that the people seeing the photo of her children feel inspired by it.
