WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

The Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes were picked as the preseason favorites to win the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference on Thursday.

KWU enters the season riding the momentum of a historic 2018. The Coyotes went 13-1, which is the best season in school history and had a perfect 10-0 record in the KCAC.

In 2018, KWU also became the first KCAC school to make it to the NAIA semifinals. That was under coach Matt Drinkall though, who moved on to become an assistant at Army. Now Myers Hendrickson steps in and he'll will try to keep the Coyotes rolling.
