Frank Mason hosts 3rd annual basketball camp in WichitaPosted: Updated:
One of the best to ever put on a Kansas Jayhawk uniform, Frank Mason III, is back in the Sunflower State. The former National Player of the Year held his third annual basketball camp on Wednesday.
Dozens of young athletes made their way out to Wichita Hoops to learn from Mason and former K-State Wildcat Will Spradling.
It's been a wild month for Mason.
At the beginning of July, the Sacramento Kings cut ties with Mason, just two years after selecting him in the second round of the NBA Draft.
It didn't take long for Mason to land on his feet again though. Last week the Milwaukee Bucks signed Mason to a two-way contract.
Mason was disappointed with how things worked out in Sacramento, but he's ready to get going with a team who had the best record last year and made it to the Eastern Conference Finals.
"You know, I was happy to get more opportunities somewhere else but I'm thankful and grateful for the opportunity that I had in Sacramento. It was an okay two years. Like I said I'm thankful for the opportunity but I'm looking for more opportunities somewhere else and I'm happy to be in Milwaukee now," said Mason. "Milwaukee is a championship caliber organization. Just the few days that I've been there so far it's been great, unbelievable coaching staff, front office and player development has been great so far. I'm excited to get to work and see what we can do this year."
