WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

A 25-year-old Wichita man has been charged with killing a McConnell AFB Airman and injuring three others.

Markeithen McClaine made his first court appearance Wednesday and was charged with first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder.

Officers responded at around 2 a.m. Saturday to a shooting at Horizons East Apartments at 505 North Rock Road. They found 20-year-old Chancelor Williams unresponsive in the parking lot. He died at the scene. Two other men and a woman were injured in the shooting.

Officer Kevin Wheeler said a party was being held at one of the apartments when a disturbance erupted in the parking lot. McClaine allegedly fired multiple shots into the crowd.

McClaine's next court date was scheduled for August 15. He remains jailed on $500,000 bond and was ordered to have no contact with witnesses in the case.

Williams, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, was an Airman 1st Class stationed at McConnell Air Force Base. He will be laid to rest in his home state on Saturday.
