Crews recover body believed to be missing kayaker at Kansas lake

RUSSELL COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE/ Hays Post) -

Authorities say they have recovered a body believed to be a kayaker who went missing at a lake in central Kansas. 

The Russell County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook that emergency personnel recovered the body from Wilson Lake at around 8:35 a.m. Friday. The body is believed to be 26-year-old Engel Rosario, but positive identification is pending. 

Rosario was reported missing Tuesday after his kayak was found overturned. The investigation is ongoing.

Russell County emergency crews are searching for a missing kayaker at Wilson Lake.

The Hays Post says that a 26-year-old man was reported missing just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday after a companion said he hadn't been seen for an hour and his kayak was found overturned.

Multiple law enforcement and fire department agencies are aiding in the search which is taking place on water, foot, horseback, and plane. 

No names have been released at this time.
