CUMMINGS, Kan. (KAKE) -

A 19-year-old Kansas State University student who died in an ATV crash earlier this week will be laid to rest on Monday.

The accident happened just after 6 p.m. Monday at 214th and Kiowa roads in Atchison County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says Jentri Lynn Fowler lost control and drove the ATV into a ditch where it rolled several times.

Fowler, of Cummings, was taken to a hospital in St. Joseph, Missouri, where she died.

Three others were on the ATV with Fowler at the time of the crash. An 18-year-old woman suffered potentially serious injuries. A 20-year-old woman had minor injuries, and a 19-year-old man was uninjured.

A funeral service for Fowler will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Benedict's Abbey in Atchison, according to a funeral home's website. Visitation will be the evening before from 6:30 p.m. 9 p.m.

Fowler's obituary says she graduated as valedictorian from Jefferson County North High School in 2018 and was studying business management and marketing at K-State. Read more here
