Kansas man dies when motorcycle crashes into pickup

BLUE MOUND, Kan. (KAKE) -

Authorities say a 56-year-old man was killed when his motorcycle rear-ended a pickup truck in eastern Kansas.

The accident happened at around 10:20 p.m. Monday on K-31 in Linn County. The Kansas Highway Patrol says Edward Lewis was heading east near Blue Mound when he crested a hill and struck the rear of an eastbound Ford pickup.

Lewis, of Blue Mound, was thrown from the motorcycle and died at the scene. The patrol says he was not wearing a helmet.

The 17-year-old driver of the pickup was not hurt.
