Nobody injured after officer-involved rollover accident in downtown Wichita

Wichita emergency crews have responding to an officer-involved wreck in downtown Wichita.

The call came in at around 6:45 p.m. Police say an officer was was driving westbound on central alongside a red charger.

As the two vehicles crossed the intersection at Central and Main, a black Impala traveling southbound on Main ran a red light and struck the charger, causing it to collide with the police cruiser.

The Police cruiser spun around and rolled several times.

The officer was sent to a hospital with minor injuries. The other drivers were not sent to a hospital and did not report any serious injuries.

WPD has brought in the Kansas Highway Patrol to investigate the incident.
