Kansas residents are encouraged to stay cool and hydrated as dangerous heat returns to the state this week. 

A Heat Advisory is in effect for much of south-central and eastern Kansas until Monday evening. High temperatures in those areas will reach near 100 degrees with heat index values soaring to as high as 110.

The Salvation Army says it has been and will continue to provide heat relieve at three Wichita locations.

Downtown Wichita Koch Center

Citadel Corps Community Center

  • 1739 South Elpyco
  • Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

West Orchard Community Center

  • 1910 South Everett
  • Monday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated
