ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. (KAKE) -

Police in Arkansas City say they've arrested two men for the alleged rapes of children.

City spokesperson Andrew Lawson said 19-year-old Dakota Gaskill is facing one count of rape, two counts of rape of a child younger than 18 and two counts of aggravated criminal sodomy. He's accused of raping a 13-year-old girl.

A 20-year-old man contacted police May 30 to report that he had observed the suspect and victim having sexual intercourse at a home in Arkansas City.

Lawson said the police department filed for charges against Gaskill on June 28. Gaskill was also arrested on June 24 in connection to a burglary case at Paris Park Pool.

In a separate case, 22-year-old Aureliano Pablo-Matias was arrested Tuesday for two counts of rape and one count of identity theft. Police allege he raped and sexually abused two children.

Officers responded at 8:45 p.m. Monday to an address in northwest Arkansas City for a report of sexual abuse of a child. They contacted the family a 10-year-old-girl who later was taken to William Newton Hospital in Winfield for a forensic examination.

The next day, the child was interviewed and police identified a suspect known to the victim.

A second victim, age 12, also came forward and was interviewed, Lawson said. The second victim identified the same suspect, later identified as Pablo-Matias. Officers located and arrested him later that same day.

Investigators also learned Pablo-Matias allegedly was using a false identity to work at an Arkansas City business.
