The Valley Center Department of Public Safety is reminding the public to be on the lookout for deer after a buck apparently rammed a police vehicle.

The police department said an officer was driving on 5th Street by a corn field on Wednesday morning, when the buck darted out and struck the patrol car. While the vehicle received a good amount of damage, the officer and buck are reported to have no injuries.

The department says the rut doesn't happen for a few more months but deer may still be on the move during the daytime.
