Deputies find $1 million worth of cocaine, heroin during I-70 traffic stop

A woman has been arrested in Kansas after deputies found approximately $1 million worth of cocaine and heroin during a traffic stop on Interstate 70. 

The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office says a deputy stopped a Volvo for a registration violation west of Topeka on Friday, the Hays Post reports. Sgt. Todd Stallbaumer says deputies located contraband that included nine kilograms of cocaine and one kilogram of black tar heroin. 

The driver, 41-year-old Maria L. Gallegos-Martinez, of Indianapolis, Indiana, was booked for possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of heroin with intent to sell and possession of paraphernalia. She was held on $100,000 bond.
