Crews worked to put out a fire at at southeast Wichita apartment complex.
It broke out just after 9:30 p.m. Friday in the 4900 block of East Harry -- near Oliver.
Firefighters were able to put out the fire quickly, but the two apartments suffered enough smoke and fire damage that residents will have to be displaced. The American Red Cross is helping the six people in the apartments.
Fire officials say an adult and two children were found on an apartment balcony. They inhaled smoke from the fire, but are OK.
It's believed the fire started in the kitchen, but the fire department is still looking for the exact cause.
