Police have identified a man killed in a shooting Saturday in north Wichita.

Justin Green, 35, of Wichita, was shot and killed in a parking lot in the 2400 block of E. 17 Street North – near 17th and Grove. Officers responded to a report of a shooting around 6:40 p.m. Saturday. There was a fight between several people at a family gathering, where multiple shots were fired and hit three men, including Green. He died at the scene.

Not long after, Wichita Police said a 25-year-old arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound. He was treated and released.

Then, around 5:50 a.m. Monday, officers went to a home in the 3800 block of west Cornelison – near 21st and West. When they arrived, they found a 22-year-old man who was involved in Saturday’s shooting. He had multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but he is expected to survive.

Police said this is not a random incident.

Police were dispatched to the area of 17th and Poplar on Saturday around 6:40 p.m. When they arrived, officers found a 35-year-old male with a gunshot wound and he was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Close to that time, a 25-year-old male arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound and was treated and released.

After police investigated, they found a disturbance occured between several people and one suspect fired multiple shots and hit the two males. 

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and they do not believe this was a random incident.
