A recent news release says officers encountered Hutcherson in the dining hall of the Rescue Mission and told him to put down the butter knife he was holding and put his hands behind his back. Hutcherson then lunged at the officer and tried to stab him in the chest. The knife hit the officer in his bullet-proof vest and fell to the floor, causing no harm to the officer.

Hutcherson eventually pled guilty to multiple aggravated assault charges, and interference with law enforcement.
