SALINA, Kan. (AP) -

Authorities have arrested a 30-year-old Salina woman for allegedly disrobing after trying to get into vehicles and assaulting two people when she was hospitalized.

Chelsea Shanks was hospitalized and then booked into jail Tuesday for aggravated burglary, attempted theft, aggravated assault and battery. Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan told KSAL that it all began shortly after noon when cars were waiting on a train in the 1700 block of State Street.

He said Shanks got out of a black pickup and tried to get into several other cars waiting on a train. She allegedly got into one person's car and grabbed cash that was on the console.

Sheriff Soldan said the victim was able to get the cash back before Shanks left the vehicle, took off her clothes and laid in the middle of the road. The victim, sensing Shanks was on drugs, called 911.

Shanks was taken to a local hospital where she allegedly struck an employee and tried to stab a nurse with a syringe. She was jailed after being treated and released.

Soldan did not state whether Shanks was on drugs.
