Coyotes spotted on doorbell cameras in west Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Coyotes have been spotted on at least two doorbell cameras in west Wichita. 

Two videos were posted on the Ring and Neighbors apps on Friday. One from the area of 13th and 119th streets was captured at around 1:30 a.m. Thursday and another near 11th Street and Maize Road just before midnight. 

Each video shows a coyote crossing near the front door of the homes.

Wildlife experts offer these tips to keep coyotes away:

  • Do not leave pet food outside, especially overnight
  • Secure waste can lids
  • Monitor your pets, particularly small pets, when they are outside
