A Tennessee high school graduate’s hard work juggling between her studies and young motherhood has paid off, having received more than $1.2 million in college scholarship offers.

Lamyrical Harris, who recently graduated from Trezevant High School in Memphis, became the high school’s first “million dollar scholar,” according to the school’s Facebook page.

“She is the first to earn this amount solely in academic scholarships,” the school wrote in a post Sunday.

She credits her son, Laderrious Moore, for helping her stay motivated and reach her goal of becoming valedictorian, WREG-TV reported.

Lamyrical found out she was expecting during her junior year of high school.

“I was scared,” she told the TV station. “It just made me go 10 times harder.”

After giving birth, there were times when she had trouble walking, but that didn't stop her from continuing her studies.
