Firefighters do yard work for elderly woman struggling to mow lawn

Firefighters in North Carolina went above and beyond when they saw an elderly woman who was struggling to mow her lawn.

The Concord firefighters were doing hydrant maintenance on Monday when they noticed the woman in need. And as real heroes do, they stopped and did her yard work for her.

"You do the ethical thing, put hydrants on hold for an hour, mow, trim bushes, and chat with her for a few minutes about the joys in life," the fire department said on Twitter.

The 78-year-old woman told the local Fox station that she just sat and cried after the firefighters left.

I just could not believe that someone just stopped and did that for me,” she said “They made my year! Not my day, my entire year."
