VA hosts VA2K Walk & Roll to encourage active lifestyle, support homeless veterans

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center will host the 9th annual VA2K Walk & Roll to encourage active lifestyles and support homeless veterans. 

The event which includes a 1.2 mile walk will take place May 15 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center located at 5500 E Kellogg Ave, Wichita, KS.

Organizers encourage those who participate in the event bring donations to support homeless veterans in Wichita and in western Kansas. 

The donations will be collected and distributed to veterans in need. Donations are voluntary and not required to participate in the event. 

Suggested Donations: 

  • Clothing (Pants, shirts, jackets, socks, shoes)
  • Toiletries (including toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, soap, etc.) 
  • Pre-packaged food and bottled water
  • Pots and pans
  • Cooking utensils
  • Can openers
