"Billy was the kindest soul you would ever have met.  He loved everyone," said Gail Boll, who worked with William "Billy" Callison.

Wichita Police found his body Monday while they thought they were recovering a stolen truck and fifth-wheel RV.

"He just, um, he loved Kid Rock.  His favorite color was blue," Boll said.

She and others who worked with Billy Callison at Payday Motors say they've lost not only a friend, but a family member.  They say Billy was someone everyone loved.

"He'd been here a long time.  There's a lot of people that are coming here and saying we're just offering our condolences and that truly care about Billy because Billy truly cared about them," she added.

They're trying to understand why someone would steal his truck and his RV from the lot across the street from Payday Motors.  Family members say he lived there in order to provide extra security for the car lot.

"Anything you needed Billy to do, it was done.  Sometimes you didn't even have to tell him.  It was already done.  That's how good he was," Boll remembered.

Friends say they last saw Billy Sunday evening.  Monday morning his RV was gone.  Then, that afternoon, they saw someone else driving his truck away from the lot pulling another trailer.  They immediately knew something was wrong and called 911.

Hours later investigators found the truck and the RV parked in the driveway of a private home in a South Greenwood neighborhood.

"(I) came home from school and there was this tape around my house and around the neighbor's house," said Elizabeth Serrano, who lives next door to that house.  "It was a very large camper that took up most of their driveway, that I've never seen before, attached to a truck."

It was as officers were searching the RV, collecting evidence, that they say they found Billy.

Friends say now they're trying to make sure everyone knows about the man they loved.

"We just had so much fun and everybody loved Billy," Boll explained.

His family told KAKE News Billy worked hard to care for his family and loved them just as hard.

His friends say he loved to have fun.

KAKE News spoke with Billy six years ago when he was mistaken for a bank robber.  Even then, still shaken from the mistaken ID and resulting run-in with police, his sense of humor shone through.

"You need to get your story straight, and your eyes checked," Billy said at the time.

Police have arrested two people on murder charges in this case, 25-year-old Royce Thomas and 24-year-old Micaela Spencer.

Meanwhile, his family is now waiting for those suspects to appear in court, instead of celebrating with Billy as he makes his last payment on the RV next week and moves it to the mountains to live, fulfilling a lifelong dream.
