A 31-year-old man has been charged with sexually assaulting three teenagers in the pool area of the downtown Wichita YMCA.

Keith Magoon made his first court appearance Monday and was charged with rape and four counts of aggravated sexual battery.

Officers were called last Wednesday evening to the report of a sexual assault at the YMCA located at 402 North Market. Two 16-year-old girls and a 17-year-old girl told police that Magoon had sexually assaulted them in the pool area, Officer Charley Davidson said.

Police located Magoon in the YMCA and took him into custody without incident.

Magoon's next court date was scheduled for May 30. He remains jailed on $150,000 bond.

The YMCA released a statement last week, saying that the case "appears to involve a guest through a partner organization and we will continue examining those programs as well as our overall programs to ensure the safety of all our members and guests."

In April, a former downtown YMCA employee was sentenced to 27 years in prison for sexually assaulting two young girls in the Kid Zone in 2018. More on that story here
