AAC Tourney Cancellation "pretty tough pill to swallow" for Shockers
Wichita State's 2019 season ended prematurely after the AAC Tournament was cancelled because of bad weather and poor field conditions.
The Shockers needed to win the tournament in order to secure a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
WSU was scheduled to play 1 seed South Florida who they had defeated twice in three days a couple of days prior to the tournament.
"I think it's going to be something you think about for awhile and I think we were amped up to play them," said head coach Kristi Bredbrenner. "We had a really great game against Central Florida. You know everything is just always going to eat at you but I think some of the things that eat at me even more is what we could have done better and at the end of the day we had a rough march and it killed our RPI. It really took us out of the chance to get an at large bid which would have solved all of these problems .We wouldn't have had to rely on the tournament and rely on weather and things like this to happen to take us out of it. So we have to look at everything from every angle."
The Shockers end the 2019 season 32-24 overall.
