Shockers top #8 ECU on Senior Day

Wichita State and East Carolina were locked into a pitching duel for much of game 2 of their series.

The Pirates would score first in the 6th inning off a Ryder Giles RBI.

WSU would respond in the 7th, scoring a run off a wild throw to third base which allowed Jacob Katzfey to score and tie it up at 1.

The Shockers would take the lead for good in the 8th inning thanks to an RBI single from sophomore Hunter Gibson.

Clayton McGinness pitched a complete game for Wichita State, his first of his career and the first by a Shocker pitcher this season. He allowed 5 hits and 1 run while striking out four.

Both teams meet for the series finale on Sunday at Eck Stadium. First pitch is 1 pm.
