Wichita police say they've arrested a 31-year-old man for sexually assaulting three teenage girls at the downtown YMCA.

Police arrested Keith Justin Magoon for rape, aggravated sexual battery and two counts of sexual battery. He was held without bond Thursday morning.

Officers responded at around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday to the report of a sexual assault at the YMCA located at 402 North Market. Two 16-year-old girls and a 17-year-old girl told police that Magoon had sexually assaulted them in the pool area.

Police spokesperson Charley Davidson said officers located Magoon in the YMCA and took him into custody without incident. He said Magoon and the teens did not know each other.

Davidson said one of the teens was hospitalized, but he wasn't sure about the other two.

The investigation is ongoing.

At the downtown YMCA Thursday, some members said they will reconsider if and when they go back to the facility.

"It's honestly disgusting. People come here to feel better about themselves," said Kaela Whitfield.

"I come here by myself, so that make me very worried for myself," added Heather Gammill.

YMCA Associate Vice President of Marketing and Communications Sean Amore released the following statement:

"The Greater Wichita YMCA is aware of and supporting the investigation of an incident involving guests at our Downtown YMCA. As with any active police investigation we are not able to discuss the case, its specifics, or provide additional information at this time.

We are heartbroken and are working closely with the police to determine what happened. The safety of our members and guests is our priority and over the last year the YMCA instituted numerous additional safety procedures. This case appears to involve a guest through a partner organization and we will continue examining those programs as well as our overall programs to ensure the safety of all our members and guests."

Last month, a former downtown YMCA employee was sentenced to 27 years in prison for sexually assaulting two young girls in the Kid Zone in 2018. More on that story here
