The 12-year-old has been charged with aggravated battery and aggravated assault.

A boy is recovering after being stabbed in the back late Saturday night in southeast Wichita. It stemmed from an argument while playing video games.

Wichita Police say officers were sent to a stabbing call before 11 p.m. in the 2200 block of South Glendale – north of Pawnee and Oliver.

When officers arrived, they found a 9-year-old boy with a minor cut to his back. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.

Three boys – ages 13, 12 and 9 – were inside a home playing video games and got into an argument. During the incident, the 12-year-old threw a knife at the 9-year-old outside the home. The 13 and 9-year-old boys are brothers.

The parents have been contacted and police are still conducting interviews. The investigation is ongoing.
