Jackie Stiles named an assistant coach at OklahomaPosted: Updated:
Jackie Stiles was hired as an assistant coach on the Oklahoma women's basketball team on Wednesday.
The former Claflin High School star has spent the past six seasons as an assistant at Missouri State.
"Jackie’s resume speaks for itself. Not only is she one of the most decorated players to ever play our game, but she is also a rising star in the coaching profession,” said OU women's basketball coach Sherri Coale in a statement. “Jackie has the unique ability to develop student-athletes to the height of their potential on the court, as she knows first-hand the mental and physical commitment that is necessary to excel at this level. We are excited to welcome her to our family, and we know she will make an instant impact on our team and coaching staff.”
Stiles was one of the most prolific scorers in NCAA history, she ranks third all-time 3,393 career points. She helped lead Missouri State to the 2001 Final Four.
Stiles was the fourth overall pick in the 2001 WNBA Draft.
