5 injured, 1 in critical condition after Reno County crash

RENO COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) -

Five men have been injured with one in critical condition after a highway crash between Hutchinson and Newton.

It happened just after 4 p.m. on Tuesday. The Kansas Highway Patrol says 25-year-old Brent Crawley was driving a 96 Dodge Ram westbound on U50, about 3 miles west of Burrton when he attempted to pass two vehicles. 

Crawley struck an oncoming Jeep in the eastbound lanes that was driven by 36-year-old Jose Dimas-Martinez who had 3 other passengers in his vehicle.

All occupants in Dimas-Martinez's vehicle were transported to a hospital with minor injuries while Crawley was transported with critical injuries. All men were from Newton.

No other information has been given at this time.
