Wins for Kansas: Laundry Love

Posted: Updated:
WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Monday is National Laundry Day, and volunteers around Wichita are making sure people have clean clothes.

The second Tuesday of each month, Araland Wallace and volunteers with Laundry Love show up at the Spring Clean Laundromat on Ridge Road with quarters in hand, ready to pay for laundry cycles. But for this deacon in the Episcopal Church, it is so much more than the clean clothes.

"When we do this the laundry needs is about 50% of it," Wallace said. "But the relationship building is the other 50% of that equation."

They do around 50 loads of laundry a session, which leaves a lot of people thankful for what this ministry does.

To help with their mission, KAKE-TV and our partners, DeVaughn James Injury Lawyers are honored to them as this week's Wins for Kansas.
