WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita police say speed and alcohol were factors in a rollover crash that killed a 24-year-old man early Sunday.

The happened at around 1:45 a.m. Sunday near Broadway and 31st Street South. Police spokesperson Paul Cruz said officers arrived to find an overturned Mitsubishi Eclipse with two people trapped inside.

The driver, Erik Luna, died at the scene. His 20-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries and remained hospitalized Monday morning.

Investigators determined that Luna was heading south on Broadway when he lost control of his car and struck a concrete barrier before the vehicle rolled. Cruz said that the preliminary investigation shows that speed and alcohol contributed to the crash.

Cruz said death is Wichita's seventh traffic fatality of the year.
