Students from Southeast High School gathered to remember their friend, Sam Harter, who died earlier this week in a skateboarding accident.

Harter was only 15 years old. He was on is skateboard, hanging onto the passenger's side door of a moving car when he fell and hit his head. Cell phone video shows a neighbor performing CPR on Sunday. He died a few days later.

"It happened at random. It happened just a surprise. One minute he's laying in a coma, everybody''s hoping he'll come back. Hoping and praying for him. Now, he's just gone. Earned his wings," says one of Harter's classmates, Janae Simpson.

His classmates are still in shock, but they're choosing to remember the good times.

"He was always a friend to everybody. He brought all of us together. He didn't have an enemy."

"He was in my PE class, and I looked at him, and I was like he's kind of cute," said Simpson.

Even in death, Harter is still touching the lives of his friends and complete strangers.

"Sam will live on in seven other people that are recipients of his organs, and that is an amazing thing," says one of Harter's family members.

"Seeing everybody here. Seeing everybody just laughing and crying and remebering all the memories. It just touches hearts," says Simpson.

There will be a balloon launch Sunday near 9th and Christine where the accident happened.
