MULVANE, Kan. (KAKE) -

Power has been restored in Mulvane.

Previous story:

The city of Mulvane has been completely blacked out since the early morning hours of Friday. Residents have tried to stay warm during an abnormally cold night with temperatures around freezing levels.

Sedgwick County dispatchers confirmed to KAKE News that a rollover accident near 103rd and Rock Road damaged a main transmission line which feeds the city's power supply. There were no injuries in that accident.

Administrators canceled classes for all schools in the Mulvane School District.

Residents have taken to social media to express their concerns about the hours-long effort to restore power, which originally went off at about 1:00 am.

Mulvane Police have had to rely on fire trucks to help generate power and ask all residents to please not call with non-emergency concerns.

KAKE News has a crew in Mulvane and will remain on scene to report the latest information.
