Target car seat trade-in program begins today

Looking to get rid of an old child car seat or are you ready to upgrade to a new size for your growing child? Target is bringing back its a car seat trade-in event April 22 through May 4.

During the event, Target stores will accept and recycle all types of car seats, including infant seats, convertible seats, car seat bases, harness or booster car seats and car seats that are expired or damaged.

Customers will receive a coupon for 20 percent off a new car seat, booster seat or stroller. The coupon is good through May 11.

Car seats can only be traded in at a Target store. However, the coupons picked up from Guest Services can be applied to both in-store and online purchases.

Materials from the old car seats will be recycled by Waste Management.
