JEFFERSON, Ga. (KAKE) -

Police say a 1-year-old Georgia girl who was abducted by her non-custodial father is now safe, but the father is still at large.

KATC reports Arcade Police Chief Randy Williams made the announcement at around 2 p.m. that Baylee Sue Peeples had been located. An Amber Alert stated that she had been abducted by 39-year-old Robert Joseph Peeples.

Williams said Peeples dropped off the girl at a family member's home in a neighboring county. He said she would be reunited with her mother after her condition is evaluated.

The father is believed to be traveling in a white 1993 GMC Vandura with a Georgia tag RIK1620. He could face kidnapping and other charges.
