The Smith County Sheriff's Department made a routine traffic stop leading to the arrest of two individuals on March 17th, 2019. After being stopped for going 76 mph in a 65 mph zone, officers found 6 pounds of marijuana and a small amount of what they thought could be crack cocaine in the vehicle.
Both individuals were arrested for possession with the intent to distribute and the driver is also facing charges of driving while suspended. The driver is currently being held on a warrant out of Colorado. The drugs were sent to the KBI for official testing.
