Local travelers impacted by Colorado blizzard

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

A few flights were canceled Wednesday due to the massive storm moving across the country. It affected a few travelers trying to leave Wichita by plane and others were double checking their future plans.

“We like to get ourselves in order. And so, we just thought that we were out this way anyway, so we’ll just stop down and see whether or not they were going to cancel this flight,” said Jim Friend.

They’re still waiting on the fate of that flight – one of thousands canceled out of Denver because of the storm system. But it wasn’t just travelers going from Wichita to DIA affected.

“I was supposed to go to Seattle and then to Boise,” said David, a flier said. “Unfortunately it’s been canceled, that’s why I was here trying to figure out what I’m going to do.”

Airlines still recommend travelers double check their flights regardless of destination – since major airports could still be impacted by weather throughout the week.
