Anchor for KAKE News @ 5PM, 6PM, 10PM

Craig Nigrelli has reported and shared major news stories with viewers for more than 29 years.

The veteran news anchor and reporter joins the KAKE News team as the co-anchor for the 5, 6 and 10pm newscasts alongside Deb Farris.

Nigrelli is well-known and respected for both his news anchoring and news reporting.

Craig comes to KAKE News after serving as the evening anchor at KMTV in Omaha, Nebraska where he anchored the 4:30, 5, 6 and 10PM newscasts

In fact, Nigrelli has field anchored big local events, including political rallies featuring Romney, Clinton, Buffett, Obama and President Trump.

Nigrelli’s reporting in Omaha has earned high praise. He was considered one of the top reporters in the market to cover major domestic stories and has been lauded in particular, for his coverage of the Roman Catholic Church. Even Chicagoan's recall his in-depth interview with Cardinal Blase Cupich, Archdiocese of Chicago.

Prior to that, Craig was an afternoon anchor and 10 PM Reporter at KCTV5 in Kansas City.  During his tenure there, he delivered fast paced live reports at 10 and investigative stories, such as the effectiveness and accuracy of Tornado Warning Sirens in the Kansas City area.

Craig spent four years at KOAT in Albuquerque, New Mexico from 2000 to 2004, Anchoring the Morning and Noon Newscasts.  Craig’s knowledge of politics and years of coverage, led then Governor Bill Richardson to declare March 1, 2004 – “Craig Nigrelli Day in New Mexico “.

Craig is a native of Buffalo, New York where he began his broadcasting career, on the radio, in 1990 before crossing into TV.  He spent 7 years at WIVB where he not only anchored on the weekends, but covered everything from blizzards to federal agents raiding the boyhood home of Oklahoma City bomber Tim McVeigh.

When he's not on TV, you can find Craig and his wife, Carol, exploring everything Wichita has to offer. He also enjoys spending time at the gym, and playing ice hockey. His wife Carol is a member of the Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame, and is an accomplished cellist, who has played at plethora of events.
