WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

The long awaited reopening of the Starlite Drive-In has finally come.

The drive-in will be opening on Friday, and showtimes start at 7:30 p.m.

The drive-in was expected to close for good last year but the new owner, Blake Smith, ended up saving the business after he bought it at auction in December.

The City of Wichita approved a $200,000 loan for two new digital projectors in December.
